Porsche Canada x Le Germain Hotels

As part of the national Destination Charging program, Porsche Cars Canada and Le Germain Hotels have partnered to offer an electrifying new benefit to hotel guests at most Germain Hotels establishments: complimentary vehicle charging for Porsche electric or e-hybrid owners to keep batteries in the green while enjoying the luxurious services and accommodations the hotel has to offer. The video is to be published on both Instagram and TikTok accounts, in addition to providing rights of usage for organic repost by both Porsche Cars Canada and Le Germain Hotels.

Porsche Destination Charging

The Porsche Destination Charging program, established in Canada in 2021, is a growing premium destination charging network with over 80 chargers installed across the country. The program is designed to provide Porsche electric and plug-in hybrid drivers convenient and complimentary AC charging during their stay at premier Canadian destinations. The Porsche Destination AC chargers typically allow for a customer to charge their vehicle up to 80% in around 4 hours.

Le Germain Hotel Calgary

For this activation, the designated creator will have the opportunity to stay at Le Germain Hotel Calgary, nestled next to the Calgary Tower in the city’s downtown core, where we can find most of the city’s attractions and restaurants. Steps away from Arts Commons, the TELUS Convention Centre and Stephen Avenue Walk, the hotel features 143 boldly designed rooms in a state-of-the-art structure, outfitted with eco-friendly technologies. The hotel is also just an hour's drive from the Rockies, and an hour and a half away from Banff; which is ideal for a one-day road trip.

My Porsche App

Stay connected to your vehicle with My Porsche. The My Porsche app offers you easy access to a variety of services all in one convenient location, including checking your vehicle’s charging status, plan charging times, and find Destination Charging and Electrify Canada charging locations. You will be provided with your log-in information before your trip.

Charging On The Go

The Taycan’s charging abilities are just as powerful as the sports car itself.
How to find a charging station
  • Charge your Taycan at high-power Electrify Canada charging stations. To find them, use the Porsche Charging Service App ("Charging NA" on iOS and Android).
  • To find additional public chargers at all power levels, use the Navigation system, or use plugshare.com on your mobile device.
Seamless charging at Electrify Canada
  • 28 Electrify Canada stations are operational and available on most major highways.
  • In addition to the Charging NA app, you can also search for these stations in your Navigation system by selecting “Porsche Charging Service”.
  • When you arrive, simply Plug-in*. For the fastest charging experience, use the charger labelled with 350 kW.
*These stations use “Plug and Charge”

Electrify Canada:
Step-By-Step Guide

Step 1: Approach
  • Use the Charging NA App to locate nearest station.
  • When pulling into the spot be aware: The DC charging port is on the passenger-side. Safely get close to the charger, cables can be short.
  • Open charge port door.
Step 2: Plug-and-Charge
  • The charger should recognize you automatically and begin charging*.
Step 3: Depart
  • When finished charging, click the button in the charge port, wait for the light, and disconnect DC cable.
  • Replace the cable in the charger.
  • Close the charge port door.
*Backup: If you have this feature turned on, you can manually start a charging session using the Charging NA App. First, select the charging site and find the charger ID (like a fuel pump number at a gas station). Then, click on that charger and “Start Charging” to activate the session.

Your Mandate

The production (filming and editing) of 1 short-form video featuring the Porsche Taycan, highlighting the Porsche Destination Charging program as well as Le Germain Hotel Calgary and Germain Hotels’ establishments. The video is to be published on both Instagram and TikTok, in addition to providing rights of usage for organic repost by both Porsche Cars Canada and Le Germain Hotels.

Posting Criterias

Requirements

  • The duration of the video has to be 45-90 sec.;

  • What Porsche Destination Charging is (refer to detailed program description listed above);

  • Mention and visuals of the all-electric Taycan, influencer driving around and the charging experience/process;

  • Visuals including accommodations or services provided by Le Germain Calgary, including location of the hotel, the upscale experience, the room, etc.;

  • Shots of exterior of the hotel, the interior and the room.

Nice to Have

  • Mention the type of room the influencer stayed in;

  • Mention that Destination Charging is embedded into the My Porsche app/navigation;

  • Highlight Le Germain Hotels as a Porsche Destination Charging partner that is available at 8 locations across Canada.

Content Considerations

We’ve included the following guidelines to help ensure you’re able to capture high-quality content that aligns with the Porsche brand and standards. We encourage you to consider the following:
  • The official pronunciation for Porsche is “Por-scha” and not “Por-sche”, because of its German origin. It’s extremely important for the creator to pronounce it correctly at all times in video content (example here).
  • The official pronunciation for Taycan is “Tie-con”. It’s extremely important for the creator to pronounce it correctly at all times in video content (example here).
  • Abide by federal and provincial driving/road laws. No illegal parking or driving.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols in place.
  • Showcase the car’s capabilities.
  • Include as much of the car as possible in each shot when flming/shooting the exterior.
  • Ensure the vehicle is brightly lit, but not over exposed.
Additionally, these are some things to avoid in order to ensure that your content aligns with the Porsche corporate identity. When shooting, avoid:
  • Sitting or standing on top of the car.
  • Holding the camera and filming video while driving the vehicle.
  • Filming yourself eating or drinking while driving the vehicle.
  • Cursing or using language that doesn’t align with the Porsche brand.
  • Highlighting other brands in footage/images.
