Montreal, Quebec, May 11, 2026 – Dreww has been named a finalist at Idéa 2026 in the "Création publicitaire" category for its social media work with Ville de Laval, marking the agency’s first-ever finalist nomination at the Quebec advertising and marketing awards.
Organized by the A2C, Idéa recognizes creative work from across Quebec’s advertising, marketing, communication, and agency landscape. For Dreww, the nomination is especially meaningful because the recognized work was built entirely for social media, through short-form vertical video, platform-native storytelling, and an always-on content approach.
The nominated work was created for Ville de Laval’s TikTok presence and centred around La Vie, a mascot inspired by the city’s visual identity. Developed as a friendly, humorous, and direct character, La Vie was designed to help Ville de Laval speak to younger and future citizens in a way that felt more natural to TikTok than to traditional municipal communications.
Across 36 unique posts, the content generated:
2.1 million video views
93,000 engagements
7,500 new followers
The project also earned attention beyond TikTok, including a mention on Radio-Canada’s Tout un matin.
“This nomination means a lot to us because the work recognized by Idéa is often created by some of the largest and most established agencies in Quebec, usually in the context of major advertising campaigns,” says Andrew Johnson, Founder and President of Dreww. “Dreww does not come from that world. Our work is digital, social-first, and built for the way people actually consume content today. To see our name alongside agencies that have shaped Quebec advertising for decades is a strong validation of the team we have built and of the level of craft that goes into creating content for social media at Dreww.”
This was Dreww’s second time submitting work to Idéa and its first time being named a finalist. The recognition reinforces the agency’s belief that social media content can be strategic, creative, measurable, and worthy of recognition within Quebec’s broader advertising and marketing industry.
For Dreww, the nomination also highlights the growing importance of 9:16 short-form video, social-native creative, and platform-specific storytelling in modern communication. The Ville de Laval project shows how public organizations can connect with audiences by adopting a tone that is more human, direct, and culturally aware.
